He starts off well enough, by telling me that I have won some money in some draw or other.
The trouble is he doesn't go on to say what I should do; the norm being to contact some "claims agent", with my bank details etc.
This scammer will not make much of a dishonest living with this pitiful technique!

Aside from the usual blindingly obvious clues in this email to it being a scam, the scammer has managed to place Lincolnshire in London.

He even tried to make the email look genuine by writing it in red, blue and black; there's class for you!
Regrettably for Dr Carvert I am not a dribbling simpleton, this is such an obvious scam as such the email has been destroyed.

This scammer has clearly taken heed of what I have been saying about scammers lacking imagination. Instead of the usual drivel about winning lotteries or dead men's' bank accounts, this scammer claims that he is running a conference for those organisations and individuals interested in aiding those affected by war.
The problem is that the email is badly written, the sender's email address is based in Russia and the scammer wants my passport number.
A clear set of danger signals.
Never, ever, ever send your passport number, birth details or any other personal details to a stranger who approaches you in this manner.
This is a scam designed to steal your id.

What I find most irritating about the scammers, who bombard me with fake lottery wins and the like, is the fact that their English is abysmal.
