PHISH WARNING

The following email purports to come from Barclays.

It doesn't, one clear giveaway is the fact the writer "demands" that I take time to access the link.

No reputable bank or institution will write to its customers in this way.

Were I to be stupid enough to click on the link (which by the way isn't even disguised), the fake "Barclays" page that I would land on would ask me to fill in my passcodes etc.

If you receive one of these do not fall for it, it is a con.

Barclays have been sent a copy, so that they can hunt down the criminal sending these out.

Customer Details Confirmation Procedure
Personal/Business/Premier Banking

Dear Barclays customer,

During our regularly scheduled account maintenance and verification procedures, we were unable to verify your account information. This might be due to either one of the following reasons: 1. A recent change in your personal information (i.e. change of address). 2. Submitting invalid information during the initial enrollment process. 3. An inability to accurately verify your account information due to an internal error within our processors.

We demand that you take 5 minutes out of your online experience and confirm your records to avoid running into any future problems with the online service. However, failure to confirm your records will result in your account suspension. Once you have confirmd your account records your internet banking service will not be interrupted and will continue as normal.

Please follow the link below and confirm your account information.
